This Web site is intended to help owners of recreational vehicle (RV) parks and campgrounds identify potential environmental impacts of the park and campground, especially on surface water and groundwater quality. A series of checklists have been developed, based on potential activities at an RV park and campground. The first step is to inventory your activities to determine the checklists that apply to your site. The checklists are designed for you to self-assess environmental risks your facility poses to nearby surface water and groundwater. Use the checklists to identify areas that need work in order to minimize risk to your on-site or community drinking water sources.
We then recommend you develop a plan of action to reduce contaminants coming from your operations, or call the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) for assistance with this undertaking. The SBEAP will provide free, confidential assistance to help your facilities identify and resolve environmental compliance problems. Our phone number is 800-578-8898.
The goal of this Web site is to provide users with on-line access to current technologies and regulations dealing with activities at RV parks and campgrounds. We offer on-line assessment tools to evaluate the management of your operation. References to the latest environmental regulations on water, wastewater, hazardous waste management, and storage tanks are available in the commentary to the checklists.
